On Target Income

On target income (OTI) is composed of your base salary + commission/bonus structure. OTI is a forecast of your potential earnings for the role.

Reporting to the President, the Director, Business Development is responsible for independently

delivering sustainable and profitable revenue growth by expanding our network of business

relationships with new companies as well as deepening relationships with current clients in life

sciences across research and consulting. Leveraging your expansive network in US and Global life

sciences, you will be responsible for identifying, cultivating, and bringing onboard new client

companies as well as be the point of continuity for current clients as assigned. You will work with the

President to develop the strategic account plan, as well as work collaboratively with the Strategy and

Project Management teams to execute the plan and meet or exceed the revenue goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop sales and strategic account plans to meet and exceed revenue goals
  • Manage pipeline of client activity and track all goal metrics in our CRM platform
  • Bring on net new clients and grow current ones as assigned
  • Establish and cultivate meaningful, long lasting client relationships
  • Proactively identify new business opportunities
  • Lead all client meetings and presentations
  • Write and deliver proposals and capability presentations
  • Communicate BD team strategy, progress, and work to the leadership team
  • Participate in industry events e.g. conferences as a presenter when opportunities arise


Experience & Qualifications

  • 5-8 years of experience and demonstrated success in selling market research and/or consulting solutions in life sciences
  • Expansive network of clients across US and Global life sciences is a plus
  • Strong interpersonal and client services skills. Ability to build successful relationships in person or remotely
  • Proactive approach to meeting customer needs and strong problem-solving skills
  • Resourceful – shows an ability to quickly solve problems as they arise
  • Thrives in a fast-paced, agile and collaborative environment
  • Highly organized with exceptional prioritization and project/time management skills, able to manage complex multiple priorities in high volume environment
  • Strong computer skills – comfortable in a Mac environment. Comfortable using Google suite of solutions e.g. Google Slides, Google Docs, Google Sheets
  • Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate in a team-based working environment
