The Result


How Moneris partnered with Sales Talent Agency to get unprecedented access to elite entry-level sales talent.

The Challenge

Moneris is Canada’s largest provider of innovative mobile, online and in-store payment solutions, processing approximately 3.5 billion transactions every year. It offers hardware, software, and business solutions to more than 350,000 merchants to help transform the way they grow and operate.

As a leader in the payments industry, Moneris is a hub of innovative thinkers looking to create safer, faster, and smarter payment solutions for its customers. And, as such, it consistently looks to hire team members who welcome new challenges, are passionate about learning, and aspire to grow within their careers. As a part of this hiring strategy, Moneris hires cohorts of sales talent to join its regular intake of sales trainees.

That said, the global pandemic had adverse effects on its ability to find entry-level sales talent to join this program. Because of this, coupled with a limited supply of great junior sales talent available in Canada, Moneris recognized the need for support in finding, attracting, and hiring top talent for its open roles.


The Solution

In early 2021, Moneris partnered with Sales Talent Agency (STA) to help hire elite junior sales talent for its April training classes. To get things started, STA connected with Moneris’ hiring team to better understand the scope of the project and to come up with a solution that best suited their hiring needs. 

Moneris was looking to make multiple junior hires across a variety of different roles including: digital enrollment representatives, inside sales representatives, and bilingual digital enrollment representatives. With the deadline for their April training classes quickly approaching, Moneris needed a solution that provided a consistent flow of entry-level candidates that were interview-ready.

The solution was STA’s NEXT™ Program, which garnered Moneris access to the top junior sales candidates on the market every week, for as long as it was a part of the program. Each week the STA NEXT™ team provided Moneris with personal videos of 10 elite candidates, who were ready to interview for sales positions within 24 hours’ notice. This program not only garnered Moneris access to this unprecedented candidate flow, but its team was also assigned a talent scout that assisted its hiring team with all candidate communications including interview bookings, feedback, and offer acceptances/rejections. 


The Result

The STA NEXT™ Program allowed Moneris to quickly vet the elite sales candidates needed for its April training classes. In fact, within 6 weeks, Moneris was able to make 8 hires (and fill both classes!) that included 1 bilingual digital enrollment Representative, 3 inside sales representatives, and 4 digital enrollment representatives.

Today, Moneris is looking to further build out its sales team and continues to work with Sales Talent Agency.
