How Sales Talent Agency helped EVS build its sales team in Western Canada

EVS is an international partner of Nespresso Professional providing premium coffee solutions to hotels, cafes, restaurants and offices. After EVS secured the exclusive business-to-business distribution rights for Nespresso in Western Canada, it was tasked to build out a new sales team from scratch. With multiple verticals of its business and a very tight timeline for its Western Canadian growth, EVS recognized the need for support in finding, attracting and hiring top sales talent for its roles.

The Solution

In 2018, EVS engaged Sales Talent Agency (STA) to help build out its sales team in Western Canada. It was looking to hire its team based on the different verticals it sells into: hotels, cafes, restaurants and offices.

EVS was looking for strong business developers that focused on hunting for new business 80% of the time, to help build its portfolio of business in Western Canada. This meant each hire needed to have a very specific soft skill set: entrepreneurial focused, self-motivated and passionate about the coffee industry.

With a solid understanding of the candidate profile EVS was looking for, Sales Talent Agency’s recruitment team was able to quickly identify what candidates would be a strong fit for EVS’ team. STA was able to utilize its database that houses hundreds of thousands of business-to-business sales professionals to deliver the exact profile of talent in the timeframe that EVS needed. Ultimately this helped EVS hire one candidate out of every three presented.

The Result

Sales Talent Agency worked quickly with EVS to hire top sales talent for its Western Canadian team. 4 months later, EVS has seen huge success with the carefully selected team it hired. In fact, its team is 90% above plan for its “machine sales” sector and 28% above plan for its “capsule sales” sector. This success has allowed EVS to expand into another market: Eastern Canada.
