The role: Business Development Account Executive
Location: Vaughan, 4 days on-site
 
Our client provides turnkey submetering and utility expense management services to property managers, building owners and developers across Canada. The organization is unique in its ability to provide energy consumption transparency and accountability to its customers.
 
The Business Development Account Executive will partner closely with Major Account Executives to support, research and prospect to secure a sufficient flow of qualified opportunities that will influence the sales pipeline. This is a great opportunity for a sales junior who is looking for a junior AE position and has ambitions to move into independent, full cycle sales!
 
 
What's in it for you?: 
  • Base salary of $50k plus commissions
  • Draw on commissions for first 12 months 
  • First year earnings of $68k with opportunity to earn $120-$130k+ in year 2 and beyond 
  • Opportunity to advance to (Outside) Account Executive in 12 months
  • 3 weeks vacation to start
 
About you:
  • 1-2 years inside sales experience
  • Experience in qualifying prospects, using CRM software
  • Business Administration Certificate or equivalent experience
  • Demonstrated history of achieving KPIs in past positions 
  • Strong problem solving, time management, and multi-tasking skills
  • A motivated, driven and self-starting attitude
  • Excellent negotiation and presentation skills
 
About the role:
 
  • Proactively solicit and qualify leads to sales opportunities as prospective customers.
  • Present the complete proposal matrix to prospective customers.
  • Build a database of client information including but not limited to opportunity size, incumbent provider, key decision makers and a strategy to engage the client.
  • Actively participate in sales calls with Major Account Executives to learn how to engage externally with clients
  • Pursue opportunities in partnership with the Major Account Executives from the introduction phase through to the close, including proposal presentation, contract negotiation and customer contract execution
  • Maintaining the CRM
  • Remain up-to-date and report on weekly on industry trends, competitive trends, marketing material effectiveness, and other information pertinent to the sales efforts to management
  • Attend and participate as assigned in industry events, trade shows, conferences, seminars, including maintaining log of lead reports after each event.
  • Contribute to sales administration through submetering site pre-audits, feasibility studies, special requests, attending sales resident seminars, providing technical and installation information and support.
