Job Description:
 
As a Sales Account Manager, you will play a pivotal role in driving sales, fostering client relationships, and guiding potential customers through the process of implementing their innovative food systems. You will be responsible for managing the sales process from initial contact to deal closure, and ensuring customer satisfaction post-sale. This role requires a strategic thinker with exceptional communication skills, a proactive approach to problem-solving, and a passion for making a difference in communities.
 
Key Responsibilities:
 
Sales Process Management:
  • Take ownership of the sales cycle, from opportunity to deal closure, including creating business plans, supporting grant writers with funding strategies, and proposals.
  • Work closely with the outbound specialist to convert leads into opportunities.
  • Serve as a liaison between clients and grant writing team, ensuring funding opportunities are maximized.
  • Coordinate with the operations team to ensure smooth project implementation post-sale.
Client Relationship Management:
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their unique requirements and challenges.
  • Provide ongoing support, training, and guidance to clients, ensuring their success with technology.
  • Ensure deals are moving through the necessary steps towards closure. 
Business Development:
  • Collaborate with the leadership team to develop and execute sales strategies to expand market reach.
  • Continuously assess market trends and competitor activities to identify new business opportunities.
Metrics and Reporting:
  • Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to deal movements, call activities, and sales pipeline.
  • Utilize the CRM system (Pipedrive) to maintain accurate records of client interactions and sales progress.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or related field preferred.
  • 2-5 years of experience in B2B sales, preferably within the agricultural or technology sector.
  • Experience working with indigenous communities or non-profits is highly desirable.
  • Strong understanding of sales processes, including lead generation, proposal development, and negotiation.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust with diverse stakeholders.
  • Highly organized with a keen attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Proficiency in CRM software (e.g., Pipedrive), Google Suite, and Microsoft Excel.
Location and Travel:
  • Ideally based in the Prairies, with travel to rural and Native communities.
  • Quarterly travel to meet with clients as necessary
Compensation and Benefits:
  • Base salary: $65,000 - $75,000 per year.
  • Commission: 3-5% per deal closed.
  • Benefits package.
  • Vacation: 2 weeks initially, increasing by 3 days per year, with unlimited vacation after 5 years of service.
