Business Development Manager (Ontario)
Location: Greater Toronto Area, ON | Industry: Clean Tech & Energy Solutions | Compensation: $90–120K Base + Uncapped Commission (OTE $200K+)
Our client, a pioneering clean energy contractor at the forefront of solar, EV charging, and battery storage infrastructure, is seeking a high-performing Business Development Manager to join their Ontario-based team. This is a confidential opportunity with a fast-growing player in the commercial clean energy space.
The Opportunity:
This is a hunter role for a highly motivated sales professional with experience navigating complex, high-value deals in adjacent sectors such as real estate development, building automation, solar, EV infrastructure, or submetering. You’ll be responsible for identifying and closing new business opportunities across Ontario’s commercial building landscape—selling clean energy investments that are backed by substantial government incentives.
You’ll spend most of your time in the field, meeting with commercial building owners, general contractors, and developers to pitch custom-built energy solutions. The role offers a unique blend of technical engagement and entrepreneurial freedom, with support from a highly skilled engineering and delivery team.

You’ll spend most of your time in the field, meeting with commercial building owners, general contractors, and developers to pitch custom-built energy solutions. The role offers a unique blend of technical engagement and entrepreneurial freedom, with support from a highly skilled engineering and delivery team.
What You’ll Do:
- Lead the full sales cycle from prospecting through close
- Develop and nurture a pipeline of commercial building operators and developers
- Present tailored solar, EV, and battery storage proposals
- Work closely with engineering and technical teams to scope and price solutions
- Manage warm leads from related projects and partnerships (e.g., Oz Electric, Landmark Dividend)
- Help refine sales processes, tools, and templates
- Contribute to the strategic development of the business development function
- Based in Ontario (GTA strongly preferred)
- Proven hunter with a network in commercial real estate, energy, or construction
- Track record selling $500K+ deal sizes with multi-month sales cycles (4–6 months)
- Confident, high-energy communicator who is adaptable and eager to learn technical solutions
- Deep familiarity with Ontario’s commercial building market (retail, industrial, institutional)
- Experience selling to decision-makers at firms like property managers, GCs, or commercial developers
- Comfortable balancing time on the road, in the office (1–2 days/week), and remote
- $90–120K base salary + uncapped commissions (OTE $200K+)
