Michael Pilon

Content Marketing Associate, Toronto

I’ve loved words for as long as I can remember. My nose was always buried in a book as a kid, and that’s continued throughout my life. Words can move you emotionally, teach important lessons, or simply entertain, and I love using them to make a difference in the world.

I knew I wanted to build a career as a writer, so I attended the University of Toronto and graduated with an Honours Bachelor of Arts in English and Media Studies. At that time, I thought fashion journalism was my calling, so I went on to get my Master of Arts in Fashion from Ryerson University.

All throughout my education, I worked at your friendly neighbourhood coffee shop slinging espresso and upselling pastries. For a few of those years I was in a management role, and always found coming up with new strategies to exceed sales targets so much fun.

Since graduating, my storytelling priorities shifted towards e-commerce and lifestyle more generally, and I’ve had the opportunity to write for The Kit and the food and travel sections of the Toronto Star. I’m passionate about sharing uplifting narratives that teach readers a skill, or that introduce them to new products, ideas, and cultures.

My goal as a Content Marketing Associate is to set clients and candidates up for success, by providing helpful tools and tips to help them grow in their sales journey. If you learn something you can use in your life and leave with a smile on your face, my job is done.

Outside of work, you’ll probably find me doodling flora and fauna on my tablet, drinking too much coffee, testing a new cookie recipe, or playing video games late into the night.

For the love of sales!
