For the love of sales
What is the role of an Account Manager?
An Account Manager is typically a role in the early stages of a sales career. Acting as the liaison between the client and the sales team, the Account Manager oversees and manages relationships with pre-existing client accounts over building new ones. The average base salary for an account manager ranges from $50,000 – $75,000 with average on-target-earnings of $70,000 – $100,000. While the average base salary range is $50,000 – $75,000, depending on the complexity of what they do and the size of the accounts they manage, their base salary range could be upwards of $120,000 with on-target earnings upwards of $140,000. The logical progression of an Account Manager is to a Sr. Account Manager or Key Account Manager (KAM) before taking on positions such as an Account Executive or managerial type role.
